The leaves are starting to do their magical, colorful thing! The cool crisp
weather makes on feel alive and invigorated. Makes you want to get out and
start enjoying the beauty around you. Be sure to take some time to do just
that... Bring along a family or a friend and just relax.
Speaking of family, I would like to congratulate my husband, Richard.
He is being awarded the Golden Osprey this Wednesday at the Southern Monmouth
Chamber of Commerce Dinner. He is receiving the award for Outstanding
Service to the Chamber. I am incrrredibly proud of his accomplishment
and hard work! Keep reaching for the moon, Rich, because even if don't
reach it you will land among the stars...

SPECIAL NOTE FROM THE EDITOR

Need a great party to attend to wear that creative costume? Check out
Ballroom, Etc. on Hwy. 35 in Sea Girt! There will be music,
light refreshments, fun and of course, Dancing! Rich & I took lessons
there and try to make the Friday night socials because the folks there
are great and so is the dancing! The fun starts at 8 pm and there is a
$10 a person charge.

If you are looking for fun to get in the Halloween spirit check out
C. Casola farms. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through October
from 7 pm to 10 pm they are running a Haunted Hayride and Haunted Barn!
I went this past Saturday and had a blast! They are located on Rt. 79
about 2 1/2 miles before Rt. 520. (Just before Celwave). Call 946-8885
for information and ticket prices. Be sure to bring along someone to
share in the fun!

October 20 - Astrology As A Spiritual Path With Ida Cullen. The lecture will be from 7 to 9 pm. It is $25. This lecture will discuss Astrology as a path to achieve that inner stillness. October 22/23/24 - Shining Star Productions and "The SHREWSBURY PLAYERS" present Agatha Christie's "Ten Little Indians" at The Church House of The Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury, 352 Sycamore Avenue, Shrewsbury. October 23 - Join Commerce Bank for our Pumpkin Painting Party. The party will be from 9 am to 12 noon (Rain or Shine). Free pumpkins to paint, free giveaways for the kids and free refreshments! Volunteers Needed to Help restore the gymnasium at the First United Methodist Church of Bradley Beach. Volunteers Needed to help weed around the trees growing behind the Recreation Center. Please bring gloves, shovels and rakes.

October 23 - Longstreet Farm will hold a Rug Hooking and Braiding Demonstration. There will be Free Weekend Activities at Longstreet Farm (all ages, under 12 with adult). Longstreet Farm is busy during the fall. Weather permitting, you are invited to join the farm staff and experience life as it would have been during the 1890s. The demo will be from 1 to 3 pm. October 23 - Westside Hose Second Annual Craft Fair will be held in Red Bank. It runs from 10 am to 4pm with a rain date of Oct. 24 (Galleria Parking Lot, Shrewsbury Ave. and W. Front St) For info call 530-2797

October 23 - New Jersey Symphony will be performing at the Count Basie Theatre, 99 Monmouth Street. The performance begins at 8:30pm. For details call the Theatre at 842-9000

October 24 - Red Bank Halloween Parade at 2 pm. There will be prizes, refreshments & entertainment. The line-up is at East Bergen & Broad at 1 pm. For more info call 530-2782

October 25 - The Algonquin Arts Theater in Manasquan will be presenting Velveteen Rabbit (Theatre IV) The power of play and childhood fancy, the pure light of unconditional love these timeless forces illuminate this faithful rendering of Margery Williams' tale of friendship and the passing of time. October 25 - A Holistic Approach to Menopause With Dianne VanArsdale, MS, RN & Ida Cullen. The session runs from 7-9pm and is $20. If you are a woman 40 years or older you have probably experienced some changes with your body. This presentation will introduce you to a smorgasbord of information. You will learn effective coping strategies to navigate the sometimes-difficult years of transition. Topics will address an alternative & holistic approach to the physical/Health concerns and the mental/spiritual perspectives. October 26 - The Southern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce will hold an After Hours Networking Get Together. It will be held at the Trust Company Bank at 1314 Sea Girt Ave in Wall. October 27 - A seminar on Self Acupressure For Alleviating Common Health Concerns will be presented at the Wall Township Library. It will start at 7 pm and is being given by Shosanna Katzman and Holistic Living Magazine

October 27 - Procrastination with Beth Youmans, LCSW and Joanne Leone, MS, MA will begin tonight and run for four Wednesdays. The session runs from 6:30-8:00pm and is $60 for the series.
